Mass Concentration Converters: mg/dL, mg/L, µg/L, ng/mL

Mass concentration is the mass of a substance in a given volume of liquid. Labs report it in units such as mg/dL, mg/L, µg/L and ng/mL, and these units differ by simple powers of ten: for example 1 mg/dL = 10 mg/L, 1 µg/mL = 1 mg/L and 1 ng/mL = 1 µg/L. How These Conversions Work

Every unit here is a fixed power of ten away from mg/L, so a conversion is a single multiplication or division. A deciliter is one tenth of a liter, which is why mg/dL is ten times mg/L. For example, 90 mg/dL = 900 mg/L, and 4 ng/mL = 4 µg/L.
